Overview
Visit the oldest wine region in the country - the Hunter Valley. Located only two hours north of Sydney, the Hunter is famous for it's Semillon and Shiraz grape varieties. With over 140 beautiful wineries, chocolate shops, fabulous restaurants, golf courses and awesome scenery to choose from, the Hunter is a must for all visitors to see. We believe a relaxed pace is more appropriate for our clients who truly appreciate the art of wine.
Here are some of our highlights:
- Cross the spectacular Hawkesbury River. The Hawkesbury is home to the famous Sydney rock oysters and receives over two million visitors per year.
- Visit the 21st Century, Spanish-style, modernised Irongate Estate. Enjoy a tour through the winery and learn about the fascinating wine making process.
- Audrey Wilkinson Winery - First started in 1866, Audrey's is the oldest planted vineyard in the Pokolbin region. Try one of the best award-winning Shiraz's in the area and be enthralled by the spectacular view this stunning winery has to offer.
- A scrumptious lunch (included - huge focaccia sandwiches, cold salads and tea and coffee) at Oscars Cafe in the Hunter Gardens will give you energy for the next winery. Oscar's is BYO (Bring Your Own) so be sure to ask for a cold bottle of your favourite wine at the wineries before lunch.
- McGuigan's Wines - Enjoy some fabulous wines at bargain prices at the world famous McGuigan's winery. Try a Sparkling Shiraz or their famous Reserve Port
- Sample some delicious cheeses at the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory.
