Introductory Scuba Diving - Great Barrier Reef
Description
Experience the thrill of scuba diving and explore the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef.
Boarding our vessel in Port Douglas at 8.40am we give you a chance to settle in and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
Once all aboard, we travel to the reef on our comfortable, fast and stable 23 metre boat.
Whilst travelling on Calypso to the reef, your PADI Dive Instructor will take you through a Discover Scuba Diving briefing and highlights all relevant safety skills.
At around 10.30am we arrive the outer Great Barrier Reef where we practice your new dive skills both on the boat and in the water. You are now ready to dive! Enjoy a 30-45 minute dive with your professional instructor to explore spectacular coral reefs with abundant marine life.
We pause for a quick morning tea before again enjoying the wonders of the largest collection of coral reefs in the world. Here you can select to snorkel or enjoy another diving adventure (optional extra).
Throughout the day we visit 3 breathtaking sites. At 2 of the sites, you can select to either snorkel (included) or scuba dive (additional $40 per dive made payable on the day of travel).
After snorkelling or diving enjoy a well deserved tropical buffet lunch before one of our experienced and helpful crew members hosts a interpretive Reef Chat. We then have afternoon tea and you have the opportunity to have a hot fresh water shower before departing the reef at 3.00pm and returning to the Marina at 4.30pm.

Port Douglas (Cairns and Tropical North QLD - Queensland)
Complementary hotel transfers are available from the Port Douglas area. Return transfers from other locations can be arranged however they will incur an additional fee - Cairns ($30 per person) and Palm Cove ($20 per person). These fees will be made payable on the day of travel.
Participant Guidelines
No experience is necessary to SCUBA dive. Asthma and some other medical conditions may prevent you from diving. We provide quality dive and snorkel gear, wetsuits, lycra suits, prescription masks and flotation devices.
This package includes 1 introductory dive. If you wish to participate in additional dives during the day, you may do so at an additional $40 per dive (to be paid directly to the operator on the day).

Please note that a $5 fuel levy and a $5 Environmental Management Charge are payable per person on the day of travel.
Session Length
Board at 8.40am and return to the Marina at 4.30pm. We visit 3 dive sites during the day. We spend 5 hours at the reef. Your dive usually lasts up to 30 - 45 minutes. We spend about 1.5 hours at each site.
Numbers on Day
A maximum of 4 introductory divers are taken in each group. Although our boats are large & spacious, we take a maximum of around 65 passengers.
Cancellation Cover
It is recommended that at the time of booking, you consider purchasing GoDo Cancellation Cover. The GoDo Cancellation Cover is insurance cover for the purchaser when losses are incurred if the activity is canceled (under certain circumstances) by you or the activity supplier.
